BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Marcus Von Skepsgardh - Executive Director and Chairman
Marcus von Skepsgardh is an artist, visionary and entrepreneur that loves wood. He feels inspired and committed to share his love for trees, animals, planet Earth and all those that do not have a voice. Marcus believes together we can change the world.
In 1995, Marcus co-founded the 501-c (3) non-profit organization, P.A.L. Foundation. In the same year, the carved animal sculptures were taken on a 23-city Rock tour, promoted by Bill Graham Presents. This experience enabled thousands to view and interact with wood sculptures of endangered species that were carved from salvaged logs, and to learn more about the environment.
In1999, and after visiting an urban landfill that contained hundreds of discarded logs, Marcus decided to start the first non-profit run urban tree recycling operation in the San Francisco Bay Area, producing high quality lumber.
A near death experience in 2008 further empowered Marcus’ dedication to the planet, by creating transformational multi-media projects including the sci-fi screen-play devoted to the Earth, titled ‘FLOW’. In 2015, Marcus committed to create the educational and interactive children’s book, Tree Star!
Marcus lives in Shasta Valley, Northern California with his two dogs and a small herd of Spanish Colonial horses along with the wood sculptures that come to life in the children’s book Tree Star.
