ABOUT P.A.L.

PAL Foundation is a 501 c (3) non-profit organization dedicated to raising environmental awareness through interactive, educational artwork programs. Our mission is to empower children to take action in their communities to solve the environmental challenges they have inherited. We are pleased to present our greatest gift to the Earth and our plan for a more environmentally-aware society: TREE STAR.

History:

In 1995, Marcus and his former artistic associate, Shane, founded a non-profit organization called The P.A.L. Foundation. To be a voice and preserve/protect existing life-forms and to educate the general public in order to better allow them to more fully appreciate the magnitude of the problems confronting our civilization in dealing with the preservation of the Earth and its inhabitants.

In 1999, the PAL Foundation established the Tree Recycling Yard, an innovative and environmental conservation project, designed to promote the highest-end uses of naturally-fallen urban trees through the manufacture and sale of recycled lumber and other recycled products to contractors, wood workers, architects, builders, lumber companies, businesses, and to individuals for their respective projects. By diverting trees from landfill and creating valuable recycled lumber and other products, the organization has saved tens of thousands of trees from being cut down from virgin forests.
We salvaged trees from landfills, construction sites, golf courses, parks, chippers, and burn piles, and also working with tree companies, recycling them into beautiful lumber, high-end furniture and sculptures. The organization started the San Francisco Bay Area's first non-profit tree recycling yard in 1999 and successfully diverted over 2,000 tons of urban logs from the Bay Area landfills each year.

Marcus, the executive director of  P.A.L., currently lives with his animal companions in the Northern California wilderness on 563 acres close to Mount Shasta. He serves on the advisory council for the Mount Shasta Bioregional Ecology Center, is working to catalyze the production of the sci-fi movie Flow, which is dedicated to  serving humanity and planet Earth. Marcus is also developing and implementing designs for sustainable and off the grid Eco homes, and tending to sustainable land projects.
